A Tropical Save The Date Crest

This is just a little something I have been working on. A custom save the date with a, bohemian, tropical theme. The crest was entirely painted by hand in watercolour and gouache and digitized in Photoshop.  This crest was fun to create and I hope to do more on the same theme.

Next up is something very special - stay tuned!

A New Logo + A Victorian Inspired Monogram

Hi all, 

I have just finished creating a new logo. It was fun to create a crest which was just for me, using all the colours and symbolism I find important. I was initially going to include a paint palette but wanted to simplify things, so I left it off. Maybe that symbol will make its way into another artwork, in time!

 

Draft ideas

 

Originally the logo had a naive hand painted text style, however I thought that I might go for something more formal, perhaps in the style of a Victorian monogram.  The text is still handpainted and I have used the colours from the draft version.

Creating Victorian style letters

The logo was created completely by hand (except the text on the banner), then digitized in Photoshop.

I had fun doing this and hope to do more and incorporate more monograms into my design work.

A Custom Crest for A Houseplant Loving Family

Completed recently, this is a very modern crest with houseplants as a main theme. Combining many personal elements and completed in gouache and watercolours, this crest has the family's beloved black cat as the star of the show.

Two Pet Portraits for Two Beloved Dogs

Hi there,

I thought I would post these two pet portraits I completed earlier in 2023. Both were developed from reference photos from the owner and I tried to keep the backgrounds very modern and simple. 

 

I couldn't be happier with how they turned out :)

Custom Crest for a Creative Family

This crest, featuring house plants was created in 2022. It was fun to incorporate personal details, making this a very special family crest indeed.

Handpainted Custom Watercolour Crests

Last year I became interested in watercolour art, in particular in the form of Wedding stationary and Heraldic art (such as crests).  In particular, I love designing crests, which are almost like logos and can be used for a myriad of things such as a family crest, engagement gift, anniversary gift, name crest, couple crest, house crest, child's name or even a fur baby crest.  

Overall, a crest seems to me to be the perfect gift for so many occasions (and so meaningful)!

There are a couple of ways to construct a crest, those being a digital collage with handpainted elements or one painted in one go (from scratch) so you are also left with an original piece of artwork to give to clients.

The latter is what I have been primarily doing on 100% cotton high quality A4 watercolour paper.  I have also been turning the artwork into a digital file to use on stationary or products etc by removing the white background.

I have completed a few crests so far with more to come.
